Poly 1.1.02

Monday:
Lessons start today officially and it's not that heavy at all. I was actually late for 15 minutes for my first lesson. Oops. Anyway, most of the topics are the ones we've learnt in Sec 4, except for ComPro which is very new to me. And, its also very interesting, we learnt about coding and programming. AWESOME STUFF. At first I had some problem trying to build solution but it's fixed thanks to Jaryl. To be honest, I really like my class because most of my classmates are all sociable and friendly. :) YAY. We should seriously have a class photo.

Tuesday:
Had Eltech lab practice today and it's fun as hell. Hahahaha. We learnt how to use the big bulky voltmeter, I guess, and the bread board. It's really fun building the circuit and testing out those tiny resistors and slotting them into the bread board. I wanna have lab practice again! :)
There's make-up lesson for Comiss from 3-5 and I'm the only girl in that class. Damn. Why am I always alone and the other 3 girls always grouped together? Gah. Anyway, we have to do up a research presentation and presentations have always been one of my biggest fears. So, good luck to me. :X

Wednesday:
So, I tried to find an alternate route to school. So I went to Marymount MRT station and walked to the opposite bus stop according to gothere.sg to board bus 52. HOWEVER, there isn't a bus 52 there. Thus, I sorta panicked. And then I checked gothere.sg on my mobile and it shows that I have to board it from a bus stop called 'Opp St Theresa Church'. And so, I walked around Marymount station to find that holy bus stop but Marymount is surrounded by jungles and trees and there isn't much taxis around. Hence, I told myself to calm down and tie up my freaking hair because I was sweating heavily. I walked to another bus stop and it took me about 5 minutes just to get there and there isn't bus 52 or any other buses which will lead to NP. I looked around and there's a bus stop across this huge road and it looked similar to one of the 74 bus stops and so, driven by desperation to reach school asap, I went for it and took bus 74. And the bus 52 there doesn't even stop at NP. Thanks gothere.sg.
After the lessons, we went to Studio 27 since Jing Yi booked a room there. Lester & Ke Wei & Lionel & me went with Jing yi to play X-boxxxxxxx. I was really excited because I've never really played X-box with friends before. (Yes, I know, I've led a boring life up until now) And it turns out to be really fun! :)
After that, we went back to ES centre and the seniors there introduced us a really cool card game. It's called The Resistance. And I'm too lazy to elaborate on how awesome the game is. Hahahah, sorry.
And then, I went for the BJ101 yesterday from 6 to 8 and it's really fun (and I made new friends, woohoo)! Although sensei was speaking in Japanese 90% of the time and I'm just a beginner learning Japanese. Thus, I don't understand what she's talking about most of the time. Anyway, we learnt about what's 1 to 10 in Japanese and Jap Greetings. I'm so gonna greet my course mates in Japanese on Friday. Hahahaha. If only I remember to do so.
It was awesome, kinda.

Thursday:
It's Labour Day which means it's a public holiday and thus there's no school! Hahahaha. Hence, I stayed at home and finish up on some of the tutorials and homework that I have. Didn't go out or anything because I'm anti-social and would like to spend some time playing some computer games and watch Japanese dramas.

Friday:
I went out at 10 am because I thought lessons start at 1 today but it's actually 2. So I have lots of time to spare, hence, I went to walk around Northpoint and look for a suitable laptop bag at the same time. And I bought one from Punk Star, it's blue in colour! :D I'm really in love with the colour blue. Only blueeeeeeee~
After the lessons, there's shooting briefing at 6:30 @ LT51D and I've made a new friend even before the briefing started. Hahahaha. I'm awesome and I know it. She's like my soul sister, we have lots of things in common. For example, she's also in engineering, she likes Physics too and she has also signed up for Aikido! WOOHOO. This is the first time I've found someone who has so much things in common as me. Hehehe. But she's from Myanmar and she's two years older than me and her English is not that good either. Not to worry Khin, I'll be here guiding and teaching you, I'll protect you. Hahaha.
Anyway, went home with the other Jaryl since he has also signed up for shooting so I thought since we're gonna be both coursemates and CCA mates, we should not be awkward around each other. Haha.

Adjusting

Lessons just started this week and it's not too bad. Actually, I really like poly life. :) There's breaks during lectures instead of back-to-back lessons in JC, and the canteen is not bad, and there's air-con everywhere. Hahahaha. The facilities are really good too. The lecturers and teachers are both friendly and nice. But there's just 2 big problem are freshies like me.
1. Poly is just too big, I might get lost if I were to walk about alone. :/ Also, there's like tons of lecture rooms, labs and classrooms, and I don't even know where's the block located at.
2. There're so many tutorials here and there and all of them are somewhat everywhere. It's either in MeL or MoL or some other weird places. The tutorials questions are manageable, the problem here is that it's so difficult to keep track of things and it's difficult to find them too. Also, some of the tutorials questions are in the notes/textbooks.
Other than that, everything's fine. :)

EbmS Induction

Day 1:
Motivational Talk
I was late for 30 minutes because of the freaking traffic jam. Gahhhhh. Damn it. Thank god Jaryl was in the same bus as me, I wouldn't know how to get to the attic on my own and I would most probably panic. :/
The programme is really boring and it's mostly for the ebm students. Well, we're the minority there after all, we couldn't do much. Sat beside Lester for today and he's really cool. He was showing off his yo-yo tricks and that's sick man. Boy, you've got some mad skills. Hahahaha. Chatted with my other course mates and got to know them better, like way better than the bonding camp. And I made a lot of new friends too!
Ke Wei, who is gonna study Japanese 101 too.
Biao Yi & Wen Kang duo, the shortest guy and the group admin, they're actually really nice people.
I feel more comfortable being in my course now. :) I hope to bond with everyone soon and find friends which I'm comfortable hanging out with everyday.
Anyway, we're going NeWater and FusionWorld tmr! YAY! I'm going to FusionWorld again! I went when I was in Sec sch and it's totally awesome! Whheeeeee~ I'm very excited for the trip tmrrrrr. :D

Day 2:
NeWater & FusionWorld Trip
It was AWESOME. During the FusionWorld Trip, we went to the same cool place we went to during Sec Sch. Most of the inventions were the same a year ago but some of them were different. For example, the lenovo phone using voice to unlock, the huggler (purrs when being pet or hugged), printing light on paper, recycled specs etc. Other than that, the hologram, game which requires concentration or brain wave, mirror which identifies gender, smart bed (detects heart & breathing rate & bed sores), fans which activates when there's people infront of them. Too bad photography and videography is not allowed.
After that was the NeWater Trip and NeWater is still pretty much the same thing except there's a interactive games section halfway during the trip now. Hahaha There's this big screen and multiple seats with a touch screen monitor infront for players to move their avatars. It's the only game which I enjoyed playing, others weren't as enjoyable or even actually be called a game. And then was the usual intro to how NeWater works, with all the reverse osmosis, uv filtration etc. Couldn't remember the exact process though.

Day 3:
Camp Challenge @ Sembawang
I'm really excited for the activities we're gonna do BUT, they just had to split u up into different groups. God dammit. Why can't they just keep ES to one group. GAH. All well, at least I made some friends from EBM. :)
Anyway, we did Trust Fall, High Elements, Laser Combat and other small games. We were supposed to do Archery and Geo-caching but due to the bad weather, we had small games instead. In the end, we were made to build a rollercoaster and play games such as Body parts to Colours. All in all, it was fun. Then was the long-awaited laser combat. It was AWESOME, just that I was shot dead way too early. Even though I wasn't shot directly, the laser would bounce off the wall and hit my sensors. Damn.

Day 4:
Motivational Talk
Boooooooooooooring. Hahahaha. The first few speakers were really boring and the last one had a really low voice but really cool activities to engage us. For example, complete 30 blank circles, moving a matchstick to change the donkey's direction and building a book shelf for patients. We had to build a prototype bookshelf out of egg trays, tape, ice cream sticks, cable tie and what-not for the patients. The presentation at the end for the book shelves were all super entertaining and funny. HAHAHAHA. Feng shui and other nonsensical and hilarious reasons.

Day 5:
NUS Trip
NUS is really huge. Before we got there, on the bus we all talked about lots of brain teasers. First, we had a lecture-like intro for the ESP (Engineering Science Programme) course there. Next, we were split up into 4 groups and had a tour around the engineering block and labs. We were taken to explore solar energy, nanotech, some really cool inventions such as the world's first circuit or something like that formed by humans as the wires. It's some really cool and awesome shit. There's also this world's first radio circuit using a very small light source. And after all this, we settled down by this small cafe-like shop and talked.
After it all ended, we went to purchase some books but it was sold out. Our Compro book was sold out. Dang. Now we have to make another trip there when there's stock.    :(
Then there's clique dinner @ Nex's Seoul Garden. It's really been a while since I've last seen the girls. We truly ate a lot, there's sushi, meat, ice cream and more meat. Hahaha. We sat there and lepak till it's closing time and finally we walked around for a bit and took pictures. :)
Yeah, it's quite blurry but we're all smiling. :D

Btw, I've missed the CCA Fiesta thinking that Friday's the last day and I panicked a little on Thursday night when I couldn't sign in to sign up for CCAs. But thankfully, I could still contact the CCA thru email and thus, I'm currently joining Shooting and Aikido. :)

It'll be over soon

I hope April 20th will come quickly so that school can start soon. I don't feel like working there anymore. It's so stressful. Yes, I know that there's no job in the world where there's no stress but this is really too stressful for me. There's so many things to be done and so many things to learn and soo many things to be responsible for. I hate it. Please be over soon. I'll still work willingly because I need the money to pay my school fees. I should be improving but why am I still so stupid and clumsy. I dislike it.
My boss decides to put me on full shift for 6 days for next week. Is he insane? I'm not gonna let him take advantage of me. Thus, I've decided to fight for my rights and at least take another half day off! RAWR. Even though it's gonna be my last week working at that shop but that doesn't mean I should give in to everything. I'm not gonna be that silly girl who will suffer alone. I'm gonna fend for myself.

I'm stronger, tougher and better. So I'll make sure you don't take advantage of me.

I'm not the same kid from your memory. Well now I can fend for myself.

A wordy post

It's been a long time since I last updated this blog huh. And so many people are currently using dayre instead of blogging. Times have changed. just a few years ago, those youngsters were using blogger and always changing their blogskins/blog urls on their computer desktop. And now, there's no need for that, everything is easily accessible through their mobile phones. They could just lament on their boring days on their phones without going through the problem of waiting for the computer to start up and uploading pictures. Nowadays, it's as if everything's a touch away. I wonder what'll the next few years be like.
Anyway, its really late right now, it's about 2am and I have to wake up at 8.30 am for work. My current work is really tiring but there's a big satisfaction. Since my boss didn't wanna hire more people, we, the part-timers, are practically like full-timers. We worked full shifts almost every day, and we also had to do openings & closings. My legs are really sore right now from standing almost the whole time. There's so many things to do, such as stock check, preparing the ingredients, counting the money etc. Thank goodness I'm only working till April 20th for this job. My boss is pretty harsh on me too. Sometimes, I suspect that he is being really biased. I mean, I did all the preparing, counting of money, and other things you told me to do but you just weren't there to see it for yourself. I settled it on my own because you were so irresponsible. Always going to your other outlets using the excuse of checking them out but actually you're just there to play with them. What a boss.
I've signed up for my ES 3D2N orientation camp and I'm pretty excited for it. I'm in team Thor and apparently there's only 2 girls (including me) on the team. Whyyyyyyyyy. I'm really uncomfortable around guys. Anyway, I hope it's gonna be awesome! Oh, and I forgot to check my enrolment status. What should I do? The deadline to check for it has already passed. I wished for school to start asap and working days to pass asap too.

Stop it.

I'm not a traitor or a betrayer. Even if I may seem like that because I changed my job but I'm definitely not capable of doing such things. I don't have the guts to do such things. Also, I didn't change my job for a higher pay. It's not that I didn't want them, they didn't want me. Yes, I may sound really pathetic and you will most possibly pity/sympathize me but it's much better than being accused of being a traitor. I hate it when people just accuse me without hearing the full story. And also people who assume/expect me to know a lot of things just because I've worked at the shop beside. I mean, hello, Japanese snacks and Western food are two totally different things. You can't just lump them together and compare them.
I am soft-spoken and shy, and sometimes I don't speak up for myself and I just keep it in. I know myself too well. My time alone was well spent pondering about my life, my personality, how others think of me, my weight and a lot of other random things. I want to change myself and I'm trying. If you don't see any progress, then please wait some more, I've only just started. I need courage to step out. I need lots of practice to familarise myself with new situations. I need time to change. I'm not super, I'm just Rou Shan, a super ordinary and normal girl.

Start anew.

Soooooo, I was kinda fired from my previous job because they had more than enough staffs after closing down one of their outlets. Even though I was mentally prepared for it, I still broke down. Well, actually the boss said that I don't have to work there anymore but they might need me to help out during events such as food fair and kept on comforting me. Sighpie. But anyway, I got a new job which is just beside my previous stall. Hahahaha. And today was the first day of work there. It was really tiring and fast-paced. I couldn't keep up with the pace there, I prefer doing things at my own speed. I think I mentioned this before I prefer to do things at my pace and familarise myself with it. It takes time to learn how to make burgers quickly and at the same time delicious too okay. It's not like I'm not a superwoman who can learn and ace everything within a day. Even though I worked at the stall beside doesn't mean I'm superb. I'm actually pretty lazy but all well, I shouldn't be lazing around while working. I need to learn how to work under pressure too. I seriously need to step out of my comfort zone. I'm been pampered too much. I believe I can change for the better. I must believe that I can change myself. Believe that I won't be that quiet and shy girl who seriously lacks of self-confidence. I can change myself. I wanna be reborn and start anew with a new personality too.
I still need help though. :(
